Devil’s Backbone, The (El espinazo del diablo, 2001, Mexico/Spain)

Directed by Guilermo del Toro (PAN’S LABYRINTH) this is another of his horror films set in the Spanish Civil War.  Casares and the one-legged Carmen run an isolated orphanage and it soon becomes clear that supernatural forces are within the institution.
