Young Augusten Burroughs (Joseph Cross) absorbs experiences that could make for a shocking memoir.  He’s father is an alcoholic and his mother is unstable.  As a result, he goes to his mother’s therapist, Dr. Finch (Brian Cox), and spends his adolescent years as a member of Finch’s bizarre extended family.  Based on the novel by Augusten Burroughs.
