Spin A Dark Web (aka Soho Incident, 1956, U.K.)

This British crime drama showcases excellent direction, great cinematography, a gritty noir style.  Then there’s a femme fatale worthy of the name.

Bella Francesi (Faith Domergue, It Came From Beneath the Sea) is the beautiful sister of gangster Rico Francesi (Martin Benson, Goldfinger).  His sporting interests include fixing prizefights. Bella’s influence over men extends beyond her brother’s business and into his stable of fighters. Jim Bankley (Lee Patterson) is a Canadian looking into the death of a fellow fighter.  He also wants to make it rich and stumbles onto the Francesis’ schemes. Bella takes a liking to the smart, attractive hunk. When Jim’s talent for electronics makes him an ideal partner for siphoning off track bets, he becomes a commodity the Francesis can’t afford to lose.  They’ll do anything to hold on to him.
