Survivors, The (1983, U.S.A.)

Academy Award® winners Walter Matthau and Robin Williams team up as a pair of loveable losers pursued by a psychopathic killer in this wild comedy.

Donald Quinelle (Williams), a rising sales executive, is sacked by his boss’s pet parrot.  Meanshilw, on the same day  Sonny Paluso (Matthau) watches his gas station go up in flames. While they both drown their sorrows at a coffee shop, the two New Yorkers disarm a would-be bandit Jack Locke (Jerry Reed).  So they briefly become media heroes. However Jack is freed by a bureaucratic slip up and goes gunning for Sonny and Donald.  They soon discover that their survival depends on their friendship at all costs. The unique blend of Williams’ frenzied humour and Matthau’s subtle wit makes the Survivors an outrageously hilarious comedy.
