You Can’t Run Away From It (1956, U.S.A.)

This musical comedy is a remake of the classic It Happened One Night.  When heiress Ellie Andrews marries a gold digger, her father kidnaps her to save her from a loveless union.  Ellie escapes, and the wide search attracts the attention of reporter Peter Warne. Once Peter finds Ellie, the pair fall in love despite their differences.  Her father sees that Ellie really loves Peter, so he encourages her to abandon her playboy husband and run away with him instead.
